Why I Started Repcambodia — A Letter to the Khmer Diaspora

Our Story: Why I Started Repcambodia

More Than a Cambodian Clothing Brand

To my Khmer brothers and sisters across the United States and around the world,

This is for you.

I started Repcambodia in 2014 because I didn’t see our community represented the way we deserved. I saw people proudly celebrating their cultures through clothing, but I couldn’t find a Cambodian clothing brand that truly reflected who we are and where we come from.

I didn’t want to create just another T-shirt with the Cambodian flag or Angkor Wat on it.

I wanted to build something that meant something.

Something that honored our parents’ sacrifices.

Something that reminded us of our roots.

Something that made Khmer people feel seen.

As Cambodian Americans, many of us grew up balancing two cultures. We spoke Khmer at home and English at school. We learned the traditions our parents carried with them while building our own lives here in America.

Repcambodia was created to celebrate that journey.

Not just where we came from, but who we’ve become.

More Than Just a Clothing Brand

Today, Repcambodia is more than apparel.

It’s a community.

It’s a way for Khmer families to reconnect with their culture.

It’s a conversation starter between generations.

It’s a reminder that no matter where life takes us, Cambodia will always be part of who we are.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of meeting thousands of people at Cambodian festivals, community events, and through our online store. We’ve heard stories of parents buying shirts for their children, grandparents smiling when they recognize a design, and customers proudly representing Cambodia everywhere they go.

Those moments remind me why I started this brand.

Beyond clothing, we’re committed to sharing Cambodian history, celebrating Khmer culture, and helping more people discover what makes our community so special.

Repping Cambodia Means More Than Wearing a Shirt

When you wear Repcambodia, you’re making a statement.

You’re saying:

• I know where I came from.

• My family’s story matters.

• I carry Cambodia with me wherever I go.

• I want the next generation to know their roots.

Every design represents something bigger than fashion.

It represents identity.

It represents family.

It represents resilience.

It represents culture.

This One’s for Us

Repcambodia is for the kid who got teased for bringing prahok to school.

It’s for the parents who worked long hours so their children could have more opportunities.

It’s for the grandparents who still pray in Khmer every morning.

It’s for the entrepreneurs building something from nothing.

It’s for every Cambodian American finding a way to honor both cultures without forgetting either one.

It’s for every Khmer person who’s ever wanted to proudly say,

“This is who I am.”

It’s for you.

And it’s for me.

Our Mission

No matter what’s happening in the world, one thing should never change.

Our culture deserves to be celebrated.

Our history deserves to be remembered.

Our stories deserve to be told.

Our children deserve to know where they came from.

That’s why Repcambodia exists.

To help keep Khmer culture visible.

To bring our community together.

To remind every Cambodian that they belong.

Built by Our Community

What started as one idea in 2014 has grown because of you.

Every order.

Every shared photo.

Every message.

Every conversation.

Every recommendation to a friend or family member.

You’ve helped turn Repcambodia into more than a Cambodian clothing brand.

You’ve helped build a community.

For that, I’ll always be grateful.
